From a story i gave up working on. The art turned out well but it didn't go anywhere interesting.

The art really does look great. How does your process work? Did you photograph the entire story with your actors from a script, or do you have them improv or what?

i write the story and thumb it out in a sketchbook. i then make photo collages on the computer. the people are modeled on me usually. i don't use any actors. it's mostly about constructing an anatomical skeleton, and then simplifying that form to make something more accessible. if you draw something as it actually is, it tends to look alien and mutated and wrong. backgrounds are based on real elements (houses, fences, etc) but they aren't real places. they're formed around the characters after the fact.
