Some of these kind of remind me of Anders Nilsen's sketchbooky stuff. Kind of open ended esoteric gags. At any rate seems to be a new direction for you (except for the cake thing, That's vintage).

Definitely agree with the Ander Nilsen connection. The first pie also kind of looks like a Mandala from Carl Jung's red book...
